What is Ruri Face Diagnosis?

By using Ruri Face Diagnosis in conjunction with Cosmetic Acupuncture you will be able to offer your patients cosmetic treatments that work faster and provide longer lasting results. Ruri Face Diagnosis is an invaluable diagnostic tool that practitioners can use in all treatments they offer, not just in Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments.

Does CATA teach by correspondence?
No. Each course has practical diagnostic and needling components that are essential to professional Cosmetic Acupuncture training.

Am I able to practice Cosmetic Acupuncture after completing a CATA course?
Yes. After successfully completing a CATA Cosmetic Acupuncture course you are qualified to immediately offer Cosmetic Acupuncture to your clients.

How long are the courses?
Courses are held over 2 days, from 10am-4.30pm each day.

Do I have to bring any needles or equipment to the course?
Yes. You will need to bring with you a pen, notepaper, one box of 16x15mm needles (Japanese style needles are preferred, however Chinese 18x13 mm or similar needles may be used), one box of 25mm needles (for body needling, you may bring whatever gauge you feel most comfortable using), swabs and 2 disposable dermal hammers. Massage oil and sharps containers are provided.

I'm a final year student/new graduate, will I find the course difficult?
It doesn't matter if you've been practising for 20 years or 20 minutes, you'll love the course!

I'm not a qualified acupuncturist or acupuncture student, am I still able to do the course?
At this stage the Cosmetic Acupuncture and Ruri Face Diagnosis course is restricted to qualified acupuncturists and final year acupuncture students. A no-needles course is being considered for those with no acupuncture training and it is anticipated it will be available in 2011.
The Cosmetic Topcial Herbs course has no prerequisites and anyone is able to participate in this course.

Does the course include any practical work?
Yes. You will complete several diagnostic exercises and perform a minimum of two Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments during the course.

Do I get a certificate after completing the course?
Yes. All participants successfully completing the theoretical and practical components of the course receive a CATA certificate of completion and competence.

Do I get continuing professional education points (CPE) for doing the couse?
Yes, AACMA members receive 11 CPE points for completing the course. For other organisations please contact your professional body for CPE allotment.

How big are the class sizes?
Cosmetic Acupuncture and Ruri Face Diagnosis combined class sizes are restricted to a maximum of 18 participants to ensure the highest level of practical training. Some smaller venues (such as Hobart and the Sunshine Coast) are restricted to 12 participants.
Early registration is imperative to secure your place in the course of your choice.

How much does it cost?
2010 Cosmetic Acupuncture and Ruri Face Diagnosis courses are $750 for AACMA members or $790 for non-members. Cosmetic Topical Herb courses are $260 for AACMA members or $275 for non-members.
Early bird discounts are available saving you up to $170. See the Registration page for early bird date cut offs.
Group booking discounts apply (four or more participants registering and paying together).
2011 fee schedule is to be advised.

Can I pay for the course in installments?
Yes. You may pay for the course in installments. Pre-arrangement is required. Please state your desire to pay in instalments on your registration form.

Will there ever be a course in W.A.?
Yes! Western Australians can look forward to Cosmetic Acupuncture and Ruri Face Diagnosis, and Cosmetic Topical Herb seminars in 2011.
